Easter

We celebrated Easter in Waco this year.  We spent the entire weekend outside in mom and dad's backyard with the kiddos...perfect weather! On Sunday at church Dad was a lector so he had quite an audience with all of us watching. We just knew he might hear a  "PAP JACK" shout out as he walked up to the podium to do his reading. Somehow the kids contained themselves (ha)

Gran with her babies :)

Brian, Jax and Jessica

Look what the Easter bunny left in Gran's back yard!!!

And they're off on the long anticipated hunt!!!

Super excited!

Sophie wanted in on the hunt too!

For lunch Brian and Jessica made homemade dough for all of us to make pizzas. It was so fun!

Miss Lil got in on the Pizza making too. The boys didn't want to break from playing outside so we made theirs for them.

I was talking while making my pizza (imagine that---ha). Brian looked over and started laughing and of course made fun of me...I had the biggest pizza toppings while trying to do two things at once  :)  It turned out really yummy though!!!
The kiddos came in for a bit and caught a movie together before we all headed out for home.
Loved our weekend with all of our family!

Cade's Easter Hunt at KDO

Cade'd preschool class had their little easter egg hunt on the playground.

Each egg had a number on it. Each kiddo was given a number and could only pick up the eggs that had the corresponding number. Cade had number 1. He found 15 eggs with the number 1 on it! Great hunting job buddy!

A little class artwork

Wait a minute...that bunny looks really familiar.... :)

Cade's 5th Birthday!!!

We celebrated Cade's 5th Birthday with a Star Wars Angry Bird Party !!!

Look at this big boy! So proud of you !!

Standing by the dessert table!!! YUM !   Look at that cake! It turned out perfect and super delicious!!!
Wish I could take credit for it but a sweet, talented lady named Rachel that Chris used to work with made it for Cade.  I sent her three pictures of what I was thinking of and she came up with a design that incorporated everything!  The death star on top was chocolate kaluah with a cream filling and the bottom was vanilla with 4 layers of raspberry filling.  Just amazing!!! Lily's Aunt Jessica worked on Lily's Leia Buns all morning before the party! They turned out perfect!  It was fun to have Lily in character (ha).

To keep with the theme we had Hans Rolos, Wookie Cookies (star crunch cookies), Thermal Detonators (malt balls), Light Sabers ( twizzlers), Princess Leia Buns (cinnamon rolls) and Ewok Treats ( teddy grahams).

The Dark Side...

Kids tables had color pages and glow in the dark bracelets to keep them busy while we passed out the cake.

We were stocked with Yoda Soda and Vader-Ade!

And what is an Angry Bird Party without a slingshot!!! Chris built a slingshot for the party! It was a hit! Kids AND adults had so much fun with it!

Brodie came as King Pig :)  LOVE IT !!

It was really windy and the boxes kept blowing over before the kids could sling shot them down (ha).
Cade and his buddies would stack them back up and stand behind them and dodge the balls flying their way. Such boys (ha)!

Dylan and Brodie decided it would be more fun to be the targets themselves (ha).

Cade and his sweet classmates Julianna and Ava.

We had a lite- saber field that soon became a battle ground!

Aunt Kristel and Uncle Rick snuck in the back gate after their Muscular Dystrophy walk in Dallas. Such troopers to come to the party !

Gran decided to give the lite-sabers a shot.

Jax had a ball with the big kids! He held his own pretty good!!!

Rick planned a sneak attack and got Cade!!!

Time to sing Happy Birthday!!!

Birthday Boy getting embarrassed!

After cake the kids all lined up to take a swing at the pinata!

Birthday Boy got the first turn.

And a second turn :)

Once the little ones had a chance Ken and Chris put the  blindfold on Lily since she was the first of the big kids to take her turn. She knocked the pinata down with one hit! You go girl!!

Mad rush for candy and golden eggs from the Angry Bird pinata.

Time to say goodbye...Cade and his soccer pal, Parker
