Valentine's Day

Happy Valentines Day!!!

The kids were HEART ATTACKED with love notes from us on their door!
 Lily's Heart Attack

Cade's Heart Attack

We celebrated with a Valentines Day Breakfast! Heart shaped cinnamon rolls and some sweet treats!

Cade and I worked the week before on making super hero suckers to pass out to his classmates!

Superman, Flash, Batman and Green Lantern

Lily  handed out crayon hearts for her class valentines! I found both of the kids valentine ideas on pinterest and used the cute printables to go along with them!! We used old crayons, took the paper off and cut them up. We put them in the oven on 250 for about 12 minutes. We took the crayons out and let them cool down. It was a very fun project to work on together. After the first batch we decided to try just breaking the crayons  in to two or three pieces and we liked the look better.

Ash Wednesday
Father Zach Webb

Cade's Valentine Party was on Ash Wednesday since he goes to school MWF and V-Day was on a thursday this year. All of the preschool classes went to the word service for Ash Wednesday and received their ashes. I was able to join Cade at the service and listen to Father Zach speak to the kids before they went into the sanctuary.  After the service we went back to the classroom and had the party!

Lily's First Grade Class Valentine Party!

They decorated bags to hold the valentines in.

Lily was so excited about the day she put her outfit together all by herself :)   The kids took turns passing out their valentines to each other.

They played a game of sight word bingo.

And decorated heart shaped cookies.

When the kids got home from school and Lily from Faith Formation at church we had pizza....in the shape of a heart :)  So fun and super tasty!!

Pete the Penguin
Pete the Penguin is a little friend from Cade's 4's class at school that gets to spend a weekend at each of the kids houses throughout the year. Cade was so excited to have Pete! He went everywhere with us!

He ate pizza with Cade and Lily on Friday night and watched Hotel Translvania for our movie night with us.

Cade built a fort for the two of them to play in on Saturday.

He also got to meet Gran and Pap Jack and their puppy, Sophie.  We watched the Grammy's on TV and wrote up a little note about the weekend. Cade is hoping for another chance to spend some more time with his little friend.
