July 4th

We hosted 4th of July festivities in Prosper this year!

 Family, Food, Fun!

Chris grilled on the green egg and we put the new patio extension to good use! :) LOVING our shady grilling spot!

Kristel sent Mary a 4th of July bouquet in memory of her and Bernard's anniversary.

Aunt Pat brought a fun new float for the kiddos...

And balloons to release in memory of Bernard.

We each held a balloon...

Said a quick thought...

And released the balloons at the same time.

We watched quietly as they each floated high in the sky until we could no longer see their little dots.

It was really sweet and quite a moment to all share.

Mary was pretty emotional and touched!

As were the rest of the family.

We miss you Grandpa!

The kids were extremely worn out from all of the festivities. Cade fell asleep at 6:00 and we had to wake him up to go to fireworks. (haha) They started at 10 pm! We were all about down for the count but decided the kids would be so disappointed if they woke up the next day and realized we didn't wake them to see the fireworks so we rallied :)

Miss 4th of July herself ! Lily has worn this outfit the past 2 years for July 4th. This year was probably her last year to be able to wear the top, but she was dead set on wearing it one more year and matching her American Girl Doll. (haha)

American Doll, Saige was all decked out and ready for the firework show too!  We talked to the kids about why we celebrate Independence Day every year and how it is a holiday to be with your family and friends.

Tired boys but hanging in there :)

Once the fireworks were over they were fast asleep in seconds! (ha)
